After Christmas

So here it is after Christmas. Its always such a busy time, and my oven died, so I was trying to do my Christmas cooking without any baking. Luckily mum and Dad live close now so I could drop in to borrow mum's oven as I needed. I always love making the traditional Polish foods for Christmas, always reminds me of my grandparents (who are no longer with us). The girls really enjoyed pitching in and helping too, its a great mummy and daughter time. (I think I appreciated this time a little more this year too, as in only a few more weeks, they will be off to school.)

I am so sick of this rain. We had an inch on the Tuesday before Christmas when the storm hit and we lost power for a couple of hours, which means we had no water either as we are on tank water and you need electricity to pump the water from the tank to the house! Blake had a friend sleeping over as well so it was an interesting couple of hours. The kids all splashed in the puddles for a while and then Joe hooked up the generator so the kids could wash off before coming inside. They were pretty pleased though, 'cause with no power I couldn't cook dinner so the poor kids had to struggle with pizzas for dinner!! (They were really disappointed...NOT) The power finally came back on after dinner so the boys got into their video games and a dvd before bed. But, it has continued to rain here and while it is lovely that our tanks are now full and the gardens are watered, my yard now looks like a swamp. There is so much mud, it is disgusting. I am reluctant to start on my housework, as I know the mud will be back in the house in no time.

With all the rain around it was nice to go out to the post Christmas sales yesterday. My mother-in law, wanted to go shopping and as she is now stuck at home with her husband, as he had a stroke back in May and she doesn't drive, I volunteered to take her out. It was a lovely day and I grabbed myself a few bargains.

I was surprised by my husband on Sunday night, he had bought me an eternity ring. (A bit late I know, but lovely just the same.) So I know have a knuckle full of sparkle on my left hand. Very Nice!!!

So now to fill in the rest of the holidays before ALL my kids go off to school at the end of January. I am amazed that the girls will be at school, not so much that I feel like it has gone so fast but more for the fact that I have spent the last 5 years at home with them and now they won't be here. I'm sure it will take some getting used to. Then there is my first baby, Blake, starting his final year of Primary school. That makes me feel a bit old. So I guess we will have to get ourselves organised to get 3 kids off to school in the morning. That's 3 uniforms, 3 lunches and all that other organisational stuff that goes along with it. I was looking for a job as the kids will all be at school, but I was unsuccessful. I am not too concerned though because I am kind of grateful that I will get to take the girls to school to begin with. It is a big step and it will be nice for mummy to be there rather than grandma. Especially since they are used to being at home with me. I will continue with relief teaching for now and if something comes up along the way, I will consider it.

So, that's what's happening in Wezza's World. I hope the rain stops soon, you may have to start calling me Princess Fiona (I live in the swamp...LOL).

Until next time,

Wendy

Crap! I didn't get the job I wanted. Damnit! Damnit! Damnit! and now there are no jobs on my side of town. Plenty if I lived on the Northside. (Bray Park, Scarborough, Brighton...) Oh well, I will just have to keep on relieving and try to work out something else. If only I could guarantee more work. What to do? I really thought I had a better than average chance on this one and didn't even get an interview. I suppose I should be grateful I at least got an email to tell me I was unsuccessful, all the others haven't even done that.

Otherwise, everything is fine. we have some busy weekends coming up with the girls rehearsing for their ballet concert on the 23rd and 24th November! Getting ready for Christmas and such. Have already bought a lot of the presents so it will be much easier.

Well nothing else exciting here in Wezza's world.

Until next time,

So I have had plenty of work coming in. At least 2 days each week this term. I enjoy getting out for the day and the classes I have had are pretty good. No word on the job I applied for so its not looking good, which is a shame. I was really quite looking forward to that one. Onward and upward I suppose.

The girls have their prep orientation next week which will be exciting. They are really looking forward to starting school.

I am enjoying my housework day today. The weather is beautiful, the girls are behaving, its lovely. Blake is performing with the school choir tonight at the local shopping centre for the chemists christmas sale. I look forward to seeing it.

Not too much else going on in Wezza's world.
Until next time,

Well what a busy week it turned into. Afer mostly recovering from that awful tonsilitis (although still not 100%) I worked Thursday and Friday. Had a busy shopping/ visiting weekend. (F-I-L still in the hospital after his stroke on 1st May) then worked again Monday. Yesterday I was out and about with my girls doing odd jobs and appointments. I t was actually a lovely day and everyone behaved themselves (even me...lol).

We had some beautiful rain on Monday night...about 16 1/2 mm. and a little bit during the day Tuesday. (about another 1 mm) So the grass is starting to look green again but we still need a lot more to fill the tanks, they are pretty low. I feel anxious every time I put a load of washing on because that's more water used up, but hopefully there is more rain on the way!

So now I sit and wait for more calls to work and apply for jobs for next year. There is one I have applied for that I really, really want, so fingers crossed everyone and pray that I get it!

Well that's what's new in Wezza's world today,
Until next time,

Sick Day

Oh My God,
Never have I been that sick. I literally could not get out of bed. I have caught my second bout of tonsilitis in 4 months and it made me so sick. I was running a fever of 39 and could not keep anything down. I was falling in and out of sleep all day! This was unbearable. After 2 of my antibiotics (like horse tablets!) I am feeling a lot better. Still not 100% but so much improved on yesterday.

Anyway it can only get better.
That's what's happening in Wezza's world today.

Keep Safe

Just starting out.

Hello friends,

I had a friend using this blog and thought it looked like fun. I'm going to try it out. I'll see how it all goes.

Well today is a pupil free day so I have all 3 darlings at home. Everyone is fairly peaceful for now. I think we all enjoy not having to do the morning rush to get out the door in time! I can't imagine what it will be like next year when all 3 are off to school. I think those really will be hectic mornings. On the plus side though, the girls will so enjoy having something to do each day and different people to hang out with. (and I will enjoy not have to clean up after little people all day!)

Anyway,
I hope you enjoy reading what's going on here in my world. Until next time....

Wendy!
